My cat woke me up from my afternoon nap by sitting on my chest and smacking me in the face. Okay, I get it you want something I think. Sure enough his crunchy (dry food) bowl was getting low. So I fill it with a freshly opened bag of a brand I bought on sale. He sniffs it and then bites me on the ankle! Apparently if he doesn't get Whiskas or Meow Mix he isn't a happy camper. What a spoiled cat he is. I'll take the bag of food up to the animal shelter, I'm sure those cats will appreciate it.
I guess I am being an enabler. I'd rather restore peace in the kingdom though than get bit on the ankle. He got mad at me once for something and peed on my bed! I think he forgets that I rescued him as a kitten from a bad pet store that got closed down a few days later! See this is the reason I would be a bad parent. I give in to things to make them happy.
What a beautiful cat! I'd have to give into him, too. My last cat would only eat chunk light tuna in spring water. I couldn't buy it in oil and rinse it, he wouldn't eat it. I got tired of throwing money away trying to get him to eat cat food, so I just bought the tuna. He'd eat Meow Mix dry food for a snack, but he wanted his tuna. He'd punish me too, if I didn't do what he wanted.
Oh Lawdy, I don't even bring tuna home anymore or he will flip out if he smells it. I gave up on making tuna melt subs at home. I got one last week for lunch and he was sniffing me when I got home. He is a good cat though in every other way than being spoiled. He is always on lizard patrol. I can do without him bringing me whats left of them as a gift though.
At one time I also had a picky eater. Then he developed kidney problems and he had to go on prescription diet cat food. He didn't eat for 4 days. When he finally realized that this was all there was, he started eating...for another 13 years. Our cats certainly know how to keep us in line.
Good looking cat!
Cat have their ways.
Bubba here loves to come lay on me. That part I can deal with, but he starts flexing those claws on my stomach!!
My cat, Max, gives me the cold shoulder whenever I come back from a trip...he will walk around me, not touching, sit back a few feet and STARE...if looks could kill!!! He does this for a day or so and then gives it up and becomes the usual loving Max-cat.
His favourite place to nap, if he can get into it, is an open suitcase...empty or not. I have learned quickly to remember to shut the lid if I am half-packed as he sheds like there is no tomorrow.
Oh, but how we love being kept by our felines...
