I received information this morning that reveals one of the "wow factor" innovations that will be unveiled when the first Genesis ship debuts.

In a stunning move sure to live up to the RCI management code phrase of "game over", I can now tell you that soccer will be coming to the high seas. That's right - a real grass field approximately 60% of the size of a normal soccer field will be part of the Genesis ships. This move is intended to cultivate more interest in RCI cruises from Europeans and Latin Americans, although it also will enhance sales from the ubiquitous "American Soccer Moms" and their families.

Thats pretty cool! Now if they will only come up with go-kart racing. Those miniature indy cars would certainly be cool on a ship and probably generate more income than the soccer field too!

The go-cart idea was considered but environmental concerns about the gasoline storage and exhaust fumes got in the way. Electric go-carts are not a viable alternative yet.

Are they still going to have the Flowrider?? I REALLY did love that on the Freedom. So, a soccer field. Although, I see the "wow factor", it does not apply to my wow factor. My "wow factor", would be zip lining over the ship. That would be scary fun, I think. Also, for my wow factor, massage tables on deck, overlooking the ocean. I really enjoying spa-ing on my vacations, I would be willing to pay extra for a massage on deck. Heaven to me. Lil' Lori

Oh yes. In fact they plan to incorporate a sand beach around it, and also increase the flowrider size. I also am told the flowrider will have more than one speed, with settings that can add more wave action for the experienced surfers. Perhaps a Banzai Pipeline setting for the really good surfers?

A soccer field…hmm…sounds almost like the boxing ring idea on the Freedom class ships.
