Yeah, what happened to those commercials with T. Boone Pickins and his big plan for alternative energy? What happened to the chants for offshore drilling? If people don't think $4 or higher gas will eventually return they are fools.
Time to fire up those SUV'S & get back to the old way of living. Roll Eyes
Congrats Rich, Cruise Guru!
I don't think we should do any thing at this point to drive the demand up and give them cause to limit supply and increase the prices. They will say the demand did it again?

I think this just shows how much speculation plays in the price of oil. I expect most speculators are, like, not speculating right now.
I filled up Saturday for $1.62/gal. for high test. I know it's going to go back up, but it sure helps now. The governor's going to start proration, so who knows how much of our paychecks we're going to lose. Two years and counting without any raises, sure looks like it will be at least 3 more years, easily.
We were shopping at Long's yesterday. A client/friend saw me and said he noticed me filling up at Von's. He said he does not use Von's..he only uses Chevron.. I think/know it is all the same. Anyway he said if I wanted to key in his phone number and use his credits that he has earned go for it. I did. Fuel is $1.67.. I got $1.30 off.. that put it at 37cents a gallon. I have not paid that since High School!!!! I fueled up my truck, trencher and a few cans 29 gallons in all. paid about $11.00.
Yes there is a Santa Claus!!!
I really remember $.11/gal. gas during gas wars. In 1974 I bought my first brand new big car, a Gran Torino Elite. Then bam-we had gas rationing and prices soared to over $1/gal. I couldn't sell the car because no one wanted a gas hog. I sold that car in 1986 and have been buying small cars ever since.

I can't say I remember .11 cents but when I first started driving it was .29 cents. when I was going to school & working in a gas station I can distinctly remember the price since everybody came in for gas & got 10 gal which was $3.00 even. (regular of course)
