Saban got burned that way, too. They did end up winning, but that would have made me laugh if they had lost. I really thought the Broncos were going to win last night, made me happy that the Pats creamed them.
When will they learn that freezing the kicker doesn't work in the NFL. They are "professional" kickers after all.
The Crimson Tide had best figure out how to play 60 minutes of football instead of just 30 minutes and then hanging on for the second half. National champions play the whole game, losers do not.
Did Jay Cutler break his finger or just jam it? I didn't hear anything about it today, but last night they had a close up and it looked swollen and bruised.
You're right, Dave, too many teams only play the first half and go into a hold on for dear life mode in the second half. I hate when they play prevent defense, too. The only thing it prevents is the team that is ahead from winning.
I can't believe Tennessee is still undefeated, but I really think that will come to an end tonight. The Colts should be seeking revenge for their horrible showing last week. The game from England was really great, I had no idea they enjoyed football that much there. The Chargers looked good, just not good enough. There were some bad calls, but neither defense showed up. Tonight's game should be good.
Guess I was wrong, Tennessee remains undefeated. That is really strange, because they're not that good. The Colts have absolutely no running game which is wierd. Rhodes has always been good.
The Chargers are finished. If they win another game I'll be surprised. What a disappointment. All that individual talent and no focus. Norv Turner has been a failure with every NFL team he's coached. I have no idea what the Spanos family was thinking when they hired him. And now they claim Norv will be back next year regardless of how bad the team does this year?
But my first team - the Giants - continue to roll along. I hope they drop Plaxico Burris like a dirty diaper. They do fine without him and he is too much of a distraction. I guess he is trying to outdo Pacman Jones.
It looks like Plaxico is out for the season. They also suspended 6 players for diuretic usage for 6 weeks, so they're season's over with, too. I don't understand why anyone would take a chance when they are under such public scrutiny.
It is difficult to understand someone, who is being paid significant money to play football, pushing the rules and breaking them. I guess it is part arrogance and part wanting to have a competitive edge. I think the NFL minimum salary is 300k, and I doubt many are at the minimum.
