I guess the weather here in New England has been nowhere near as bad as you all seem to be dealing with - yet!

I was struck with the similarities in temps lately in our Northern Canadian neighbors with CT. We have not had anything but a damp,rainy and dreary spring with a few very violent thunderstorms! One wonders what the summer will bring!

It is anecdotal, but on the local CBS station the "chief meteorologist" just said that a fellow weatherman who has followed Tennessee Valley weather for over 50 years called last night's storm "the most intense lightning I've ever seen around here". The storm seems to have done more damage than most tornadoes do around here. Dozens of stories about trees and power lines down over wide areas. Many damaged homes - again over wide areas as opposed to the usual narrow hits from tornadoes.

Our Weather is march like also

For us that is a good thing. It means we are getting a shower every couple of days, but our tempts are in the 70's not the high 90 or low 100. I hope it clears up for you guys.

Our high 90s low 100s is usually our humidity.

This morning at around 5:30 a rogue storm popped up just north of us. It was peaceful and all of a sudden the loudest clap of thunder I've heard in a while rattled the windows, dishes, and caused one of our suitcases to fall over. No rain and one blast of thunder, and then the storm dissipated as quickly as it formed. Very odd.

I got out of the car this morning at work around 6 and heard it rumbling. I thought to myself, "this must be one of their no thunderstorms for the next few days, storms".

So it is the middle of July in Alabama - a time of hot weather and miserable humidity...normally. We are looking at a weekend of record low temperatures, with the highs barely breaking 80 and lows in the upper 50's. Man, that global warming is some bad mojo, ain't it?

Well Dave our's is trying to break high records. These high tempt are rough just getting back from Alaska. Oh well 1 week and we head back to Washington.

Some cooler temps would be nice.

I like lower 80's better than 90's.
