This has been a bad couple of weeks for losses, but Don Meredith has to be a real shocker. He was only 72 years old, which is not that old. I loved him on the commentary crew with Howard and the rest.

He was pretty dang good on the field, too. He just seemed like a good 'ol fellow.

Turn out the lights, the party's over. I for one will really miss you!

I didn't know he'd been in ill health for several years. He was an excellent QB and always struck me as a nice fellow.

Remember the Lipton tea commercials? "That ol' Sun makes the dandiest iced tea..."
