Yeah, you have a point there. The smells are very distinct on the subway but that is expected, I guess. One thing I do not miss, however, are the huge rats on steroids seen on the streets and subway.

HMMMM - it's the middle of August, it must be summer. Today it's 102 - and we're in a monsoon holding pattern, waiting for the high to move out and bring the rain back... Everybody can groan, but we're all griping about the 30% humidity... Can't complain too much, we've had more rain this summer than the last 5.

My sister in law and brother in law just left Minnesota, in route back to Fort Worth. They said they were freezing yesterday when it was in the 60s.

Ahh, I can't say I miss those hot days in Sacramento (I grew up there).

I also can't really complain about my current weather, right in front of LAX in Los Angeles: a bit hazy, but 82°F with a nice ocean breeze and a decent amount of sun. It's actually a pretty nice day here today.

Here in NC we are getting ready for a thunder storm!!! YEA Finally RAIN!!!! But so far it's just wind. It has been in the upper 90's to 105 the past 3 weeks. If we do get any rain out of this storm it will just run off, the ground is so severly dry. I went out and rolled up the car windows I hope I didn't scare the rain off!!

Here in Orlando,FL it is HOT AND DRY! Todays high was around 98F (37C). And we are in a serious draught situation with brush fire warnings in effect.

We could use some of that rain in Minnesota and North Carolina down here.
