When we got off the ship in Seward, Alaska, my cousin from Anchorage picked us up in a rental van. I then was going to drive us to Homer, but I didn't realize I was so tired and almost fell asleep at the wheel. Had to have her drive. I think the adrenaline I had running on the ship completely drained when we hit Seward. The days at sea are good days to sleep though, nothing really exciting to see.

I don't recall having more trouble than usuall sleeping the night before a cruise.

In November, I MUST SLEEP WELL the night before my cruise. That is because I will wake-up early in the morning, in order to travel 240+ miles by car from Orlando to Miami. I DEFINATELY DO NOT WANT TO BE SLEEP DEPRIVED WHILE DRIVING.

I start packing so far in advance that I usually turn in early the night before I leave for my cruise. I'm a sleeping pill popper, so I never have trouble falling asleep due to excitement. However, like others have said, I usually return home from my cruise thoroughly sleep deprived. I never want to miss a thing! I just always make sure I have a full day at home to rest up before returning to work!

Hey Jillian, where in Sacramento do you live. We moved to Minnesota from Yuba City 10 years ago. I hear the entire area is growing like crazy. We want to make a trip back there to visit friends but have opted for cruises each time instead. I hear ya on the sleeping pill thing, I take 2 Tylenol PM every night and sleep sound as can be.

OK, Lets see.... After returning home from my hair appt the night before we leave, I'll be very antsy. Guess I'll get to bed between midnight and 1:00 A.M. I'll wake up maybe every 1 1/2 hours or so just to see what time it is. I may give up at about 4:00 A.M. and go start watching my luggage and thanking God that the day has finally come. I won't have to worry because I'll get a chance to sleep on the plane. Long flight from east to west coast.

My family and I are up early the morning of talking to one another after we just spoke to each other only hours ago because no one sleeps, we get on the plane and nap for a while you know this makes the time go faster because once you wake up you are pretty much there.

Are you kidding me? Who can sleep when in just a few hours you will be living large on a ship? No kidding, all I could do the night before was rehearse in my mind each step in the process; getting up, showering, going through check lists.

Jittery at the airport just wanting to get through security and sit down at the gate with a coffee. The flight, waiting until you take off and then when all you see is clouds, sleep.

I am going to remember a neck pillow next time I fly, ouch!

Hi Greyson, I live in Elk Grove and work in downtown Sacramento. I haven't been to Yuba City in years, but I'm sure it is growing just as fast as the rest of the central valley. I grew up in Placerville, about 40 miles east of Sacramento, and that area is booming now as well. It's all the folks trying to escape the Bay Area, and I don't blame them!
