Price of gas

What does gas cost in your area? I fuel up in Oakhurst, Ca. Today it was $3.35 for a gallon of Reg. Fresno is down the hill about an hour and usually runs 15 to 20 cents cheaper. Oakhurst is on HWY 41 about 15 miles south of Yosemite NP.

In norway the price for gas is more than 2 dollars per LITER

Here in SW Florida the last time I got gas was about 1 1/2 weeks ago & it was just under $3 per gal. I've seen prices in my local area of $3.15 & $3.18 yesterday. Wal-mart or Sams club is usually 15-20 cheaper. I'm still using my emergency generator gas I had stored in the garage so it'll be a while before I buy more & the price might be $3.30 or so by then. Florida had high gas taxes compared to the surrounding states. They want to get the most they can from the tourists.

Gas Buddy is a pretty good site to find current prices for your area.

I have been on the road all weekend working and traveling in Ohio and the prices have varied from $3.03 to $3.19 per gallon. One station was saying that they expect to see the prices go over $4.00 per gallon by Christmas. HO HO HO! When will it stop!

I have often wondered about Gas Buddy. For some reason the places I go it is always off. Take today in Oakhurst. It shows gas on Saturday at $3.25 I know it was $3.35. It is usually off by 10 to 20 cents. I do use it when traveling just as a guide.

One of the benefits of living in Houston is lower gas pricing than I hear about elsewhere in the country. Guess it's because there are so many refineries around the areas nearby. Last night I saw $2.83 at the station where i usually fill up. That's up about a nickel from last week.

I have often wondered about Gas Buddy.

I guess it is only as accurate as the updates they get from users. My VW R32 uses premium fuel and it is going for $3.34 here in Athens, AL, this morning.

Regional distribution layouts also play a factor. Gas in my town is always higher than in the counties to our west and south - sometimes by 15 cents. They tell us it is because of how the distribution network is laid out.

But I will say that, even though I hate paying $3.34 a gallon I will be glad to pay it and have an always-available supply rather than letting government get involved with some price cap. A price cap will ensure shortages and rationing. Happens every time.
