I wanted to wish everyone a safe, warm, and fulfililng (or is that filling) Thanksgiving. For all of you traveling, be safe! For all of you cruising, here's wishing for fantastic weather. For all of you staying home, may you have abundance of food, family, happiness, and gratitude.

May your good karma be returned ten fold to you, Penny. I will be boarding the Holiday on Thanksgiving day with my inlaws and my pregnant wife. Yep... This ought to be fun... three doctors and a part-time truck driver. Oh well, Happy Thanksgiving to all and remember that the root of all evil is tofurkey.

Happy Thanksgiving to all our U.S. Members and visitors! Safe travels to all who will be spending the holiday away from home.

The baking has already begun in earnest at our house, as pies and cakes are being made for Thursdays trip to Grandma's house. We'll also be doing the turkey and ham and my personal favorite root vegetable - turnips (not the green part). I am the only one who likes turnips at our gathering, which is good since it means huge portions for me plus leftovers to eat with the best part of Thanksgiving food...the leftovers. I really think I put up with the main meal just so I can have hot turkey sandwiches smothered in gravy over the next few days. Accompanied by the leftover canned cranberry sauce which has started to "melt", reheated stuffing, and the aforementioned turnips, it is as grand a meal as any ever dished in this country.

Well, I'll be holding the fort at the hospital for the day, 7am-7pm. At least it is gooood money. http://bestsmileys.com/happy/7.gif They always give us free Thanksgiving meal for employees. Generally the shift is pretty slow. Usually only emergent issues get addressed. Both my husband and mines family live in LA area, so I usually volunteer to work. I usually cook a small turkey for the 2 of us. I think the best part is the leftover turkey sandwiches. Yummy!!! Happy Holiday to all, from Lil' Lori and Husband Dennis.

Lori,

I still fondly recall meeting you and Dennis on the Freedom Of The Seas in 2006. Sitting at the pool bar....you had on a Rolling Stones cap...Dennis and an English friend...we all had a few drinks together...and it rained off an on as we left Miami.

I worked many Thanksgivings over the years, so I know how slow and lonely it can be - and I did it on 12 hour shifts too (boy do those suck on holidays). Anyway, we'll be thinking of you and everyone else who is serving their communities by "being there" on Thanksgiving. God Bless You All.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

My best wishes for us all to have a safe one. I'm eating out at the parents house, but still got a small turkey for home. The leftovers are the best. My this year has went fast. I remember Dave explaining to me how to brine a turkey last year. As bad as things are in the country now I am very grateful. Sometimes we get too busy adding up our problems that we forget to count our blessings.

Bon Voyage Robert! http://bestsmileys.com/waving/7.gif

Bon Voyage, DrL http://bestsmileys.com/waving/7.gif http://bestsmileys.com/happy/7.gif http://bestsmileys.com/waving/7.gif Lori, so sorry you have to work. I, too, spent many holidays working, only we were slammed. I tended bar and waited tables in a nice Ft. Lauderdale restaurant for years. We did make good money, Christmas and New Years was even better, but I sure wanted to be home. I was thankful for the break from my day job, though. Y'all have made me hungry!
