There are millions of good ones. I just imposed a limit on myself at three of the guys I love quotes from. There is another I'm itching to post but figured I'd wait a while and give everyone else a chance. I don't think the third guy will come up anyway.

Cheers, Neil

Having lived in San Francisco, this is one of my favorites.

"I'm as old as my tongue but not as old as my teeth."
One of my Mother's quotes told to the grandchildren when they ask how old she is.

"A man on a galloping horse wouldn't notice."
Also one past down in my family.(refers to anything that is not done to perfection that you are fretting about but shouldn't. ie crooked hem line, stain on shirt)

"Knowledge Is Good" - Emil Faber

"His (or Her) mouth runs like a whippoorwill's a**" - a favorite of my mother.

Churchill "Madam, If I was your husband I would drink it "

Bessie Braddock to Churchill " Winston you are drunk"
Churchill " Bessie you are ugly, and tomorrow morning I will be sober "

When a 20-something comes to me and asks how I'm still playing softball at such a high level:

I may be old, but I'm slow.

I told my kids " I will still be playing racquetball when I'm in my seventies"

Their reply- " fine but don't ask us to push the chair"

My father's favorite saying when asked if he planned to be somewhere was, "Lord willin' and the crik (creek for those of you not from KY) don't rise."
