Cheesy or quaint, what do you like to bring to the unfortunate ones at home?
|
|
T-shirts, hand crafted items, and pens for my poor deprived children that I must leave at home.
Coffee (Costa Rica), magnets, or shot glasses for work mates. I actually kept the coffee for myself. |
Nice touch with the maual version fellow Canuk.

Tortuga Rum... well, just for me anyways.

I collect carved wooden masks. I have many from Africa, Indonesia and Thailand. I'm looking forward to buying some in Cozumel. I read that they have them at the hand-made musical instrument store called Unahi Pax (not sure on spelling) at corner of 15th Ave. & Benito Juarez. My husband collects primitive instruments, mostly stringed. I recently bought an Egyptian Oud. So we hope to find some interesting instruments from Mexico.
I'd like to know if anyone has been to this store. I guess you'll have to PM me to keep from getting off topic in this thread. But I really want to know more about it and are there other stores of the like. |
I like to bring home things that are not too big (don't take up much space in my luggage). So I usually bring home refrigerator magnets, shot glass, and even Christmas Tree ornaments(since I usually cruise around November). Everyone over time accumulates lots of junk and space is at a premium around their house. My friends and family are no exception. So the last thing they want is a big bulky souvenir item. So, I am sure they appreciate the small items I bring back home from my cruise.
