Does anybody remember the early eighties when you could fly down to the Carribbean on Carnival airlines?? I'll bet many of us forgot that at one time you could book your flight and cruise and never leave Carnival!!
I remember Carnival Airlines. They were very limited in where they flew from. I remember the days when the cruise and airfare were bundled together and if you didn't need airfare they deducted $250.
Carnival once owned the Crystal Palace in Nassau. When they owned it you could always see the resort across the bay from piers. The building was very colorful. It's now the Wyndham Crystal Palace.
I remember Carnival Airlines when I used to work at Miami International Airport. They always were a small airline/operation. They were at MIA until the early to middle 90s.
Does anyone remember Wardair?, they flew some good charters. I used to travel to England with them in the 70's, real cutlery in those days. I wonder, in future years if our grandkids will say "you guys ever heard of Air Canada?"
Yup, flew over to Nassau on Carnival Air a bunch of times. Carnival actually built Crystal Palace... I was over there a lot working on the electronics in one of the high roller suites. At the time the hotel opened the suite rented for $25,000 a night.
