Do you pay your lawyer a fee to store your important documents? Our lawyer has just implemented a $35:00 a year fee to store our wills and land title docs he prepared in the past. I guess in is standard practice in the city, we live in a small town.
Well, maybe it is standard now, but none of mine ever charged to store my will. Now, it's in a safe deposit box at the bank because I haven't found a lawyer here. I guess I'll find out if everyone's doing it when I find one
I've kept mine in my safe deposit box at the bank for years and my atty also has a copy and has never charged me for that storage; my children also know I have a copy in my files at home and in the bank so they could put their hands on it in a hurry if the need arises.
