Would love to take a ride of this baby.
Said in Sea trails they got it up to 35-39 knots, was not at full power.

They are a pretty cool class of vessels. I spent time in my Navy life aboard a WWII destroyer (USS Southerland, DD-743), then a nuclear powered cruiser (USS Texas, CGN-39), and finally the hallowed USS Nimitz (CVN-68). In reality, all three were not much different as far as design and comforts. Sure, the latter two had nifty radar and electronic arrays, and of course nuclear power plants, but beyond that they had more in common with the old destroyer. These new ships are really a leap in naval warfare.

BTW, that old destroyer was faster than either the Texas or the Nimitz.
