Yes, I can't wait for the games to start! I'll probably watch most of the events, even though that means I'll be getting maybe 5 hours of sleep every night because of the time that NBC coverage will end.

Although I ran track and did long distance running in my younger days I honestly prefer the winter games as a spectator. I like the speed skating (both short track and long), ski events, and of course the figure skating.

Hi, Dave!

I also enjoy watching the figure skating events, specifically the ladies and pairs. I actually heard on the news tonight that the US ice dancing team of Belbin and Agosto (?) got stranded in Philly because their flight was canceled due to the snowstorm. Hopefully they'll get there tomorrow to try and participate in the opening ceremonies on Friday, although the backlog of flights is going to be horrendous I would think. Here is an NY Times blog article on them on their travel problems.

Also, Lindsey Vonn (skier) I found out today had an injury that could prevent her from competing in some or all the events. This was an injury she suffered earlier either this week or last week in training, and it is a contusion in her right shin, and it hurts to even put on her boots. Here is a link on the NBC Olympics site. However, one person on the news stated that Vonn is a fighter, so she may end up competing, as it sounded like little would stop her.

Count me in too, I love the Olympics. Thanks for the links. And thanks, Svein for starting the discussion. Anyone have the schedule?

Here's the link to the official website, including the schedule:

Our national broadcasting company here in Norway (NRK) is broadcasting 500 hours of sports during the olympics

Yup, nothing like those great Noreasters to put us all in the Olympic mood; heck, we can load up plenty of the white stuff and send it out there for coverage in those beautiful foothills.
Especially love the opening and closing ceremonies. Hockey fan and curling as well.

Thanks for the schedule link, Svein!

Does 18:00 for the opening ceremony mean 6PM EST? Thanks.

Dwayne
