Donte Stallworth is to be charged with DUI manslaughter. What a shame, and what a horrible thing to have happened. He registered a .12 which is well over the limit of .08. What I don't understand, you have all this money, you have an amazing career, why do you drive drunk? Why don't you just hire a driver or take a cab or limo? Why do you throw it all away? I really believe he is devastated from knowing he killed someone, but it could have been avoided so easily.

Maybe he couldn't find a cab as nice as his Bentley. It he had been driving a Smart Car, the guy would have had a fighting chance. Oops... sorry. That's not going to happen with a lackluster college education, inflated ego, and a seven-figure salary. I can't believe that his lawyer floated the argument that the decedent was not in an "official" crosswalk. (Dr.L smacks his head in frustration as if he could have had a V-8) Stop the madness people!!! If you feel that you have to drink and greet the public... take a cruise and put your liver to the test, but, for goodness sake, DON'T GET BEHIND THE WHEEL OF A 4000LB. WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION!

And he blew a 0.12 BAC at 7am or so in the morning. That says a lot to me.

Something I did not know, but learned in my defensive driving class in Alabama. If the pedestrian is not in a crosswalk, you do not have to stop. Now, I don't know about y'all, but I'm not going to run over someone because there not in lines painted on pavement. The report I read stated Donte flashed his lights at the man he ran over, so he did see him. Why didn't he stop or swerve? I know he was drunk, but if he flashed his lights, he was aware that there was something in the road.
