Franchitti finally got on the top of the charts with a 1:09:13. He and Driscoe were going back and forth. What a great time and a fantastic turn out just for testing. Saturday there were at least 5000, Sunday close to double. Yesterday there were just a few hundred, but we left at lunch to come back home. They had the lights on Saturday, and IRL ran Sunday and Monday. Not all the teams were there, but there were 19 cars. Less than 2 seconds covered all of them (IRL). The lights were nearly as quick. It's such a great facility. We stayed at the Rime Garden Inn and Suites, only a 3 star rating, but a nice clean room for $52/night. It's in Irondale and close to a nice Mexican restaurant on 78 in Eastwood. There were a couple of drivers there I hadn't heard of, and Wheldon left Ganassi, he's now driving the National Guard car, single car team. Newman-Haas still has 2 cars, Graham Rayhal and Dernbos are the drivers. All of Andretti/Green cars were there and both Penske cars. A few slid off in the kitty litter, but no serious damage to any of them-thankfully. Rumor has it, they will race there soon!
