For those of you in Alabama, the IRL will be testing at the Skip Barber Track in Birmingham later this month. I believe the dates are the 20-22. It's a really nice track. You can bring your own chairs, and sit most anywhere for a good view. The museum is phenomenal, they're always changing out the motorcycles and cars on display. We've gone down a couple of times for the motorcycle races and a couple of times just to go through the museum. I'm hoping the weather will be nice that weekend, because I'd love to see how fast they are on that track. The motorcycles truly scream around there.
You are right about the motorcycles screaming. I live less than 8 miles from the track, but when they race there, I can walk outside my house and easily here the whine of the engines as they make their laps.
When Vanessa was hospitalized at Medical East I'd stay at the Hampton Inn in Trussville. One weekend was vintage motorcycles at the track. When I checked in the parking lot was full of great old British bikes - BSA, Norton, Triumph, Matchless, and also some old BMWs and Italian bikes. Kind of humorous to see these older guys strutting around in leathers. My heroes were a couple from Vermont who rode their 62 BSAs down. No trailering for them!
It started with mere chocolate... now (fighting back sobs) she is strung out on Rolo's. I tried cutting her off but she still makes Rolo shaped sculptures with her mashed potatoes like the guy on "Close Encounters of the Third Kind". (Sighhhh) It's cutting into our personal time. She only wants to watch old Sanford and Son reruns... and then only the ones with Rolo. It's maddening!
Enjoy it now, in a few more weeks there will be no more time together. Except for the few moments when the baby's asleep, which of course will not be at night
