While out West we are having a heat wave; Santa Ana, just minutes from Costa Mesa, was the hottest place in the nation yesterday: 90 degrees.

Dave, that's cold even for us! Although it's not so common, we'll be seeing those same temperatures, or perhaps a few degrees lower, in the next couple of days. Be sure to dress in layers and wear a hat.

We get something like this every 8-10 years. Unfortunately it usually is accompanied by a major ice storm a month or so later.

Lows 5 to 10 Wow! That is very unusual for your area. If you have any outside irrigation you better drain it. The last time that happened here everything burst. They have us for lows of 25. Hopefully the ground will stay warm enough to prevent any freezing of the lines.

Ice sheets in the Caribbean may actually give me a reason to go down there again. As many of you know, I do not enjoy the hot weather.
