Depending upon the appelation (not Appalachian), there are approximately 127 earwigs (this would be the Fairplay Appelation) to the ton of grapes. The good news is that the juice, and the wine, is filtered and filtered and filtered again, many, many times before it becomes your wine. The filters are so fine that every little bit of earwig leg, pincher, and innerd theoretically is filtered out before it hits the bottle.
