What is the purpose of all the useless/ needless listings in a signature? Is it really necessary to have all of the cruises listed that you have been on and those that are in your future in your signature?
For the most part the content is lost. It get to the point of not being able to see the forest because of the trees. |
Not sure why you feel the content is lost. For us, we work hard all year long and watching the cruise tickers count down to our next vacation is fun. We work hard but we play hard too. It also makes us realize how fortunate and blessed we are to be able to take nice vacations and I also enjoy seeing where and when my cruise friends are going. http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo.../icon_razz.gif

Instead of having all of that info being repeated in every post there should be a seperate section where paricipants can list all of their cruises and future plans.
Is it really necessary that a one sentence answer that takes up a whole page because it lists all of the cruises and future cruises? Then it is repeated again in another reply in the same thread |
I agree with janfred. I enjoy seeing what ships fellow cruisers have been on, and when they are heading out again. Being a member of several cruise forums, I can say Cruise-Chat has the least amount of what could be considered "fluff" in signatures.

Nice "fluff", Dwayne!

7th, I certainly understand your point about the "fluff" being a distraction from the message content. I think you'll get used to reading the message itself and scrolling past the person's cruise information. I hardly notice it anymore and I know the message content itself is not lost on me.

The "fluff" is, as far as I can see, a nice "spice" and an interesting reminder of each other's cruise plans.
Especially now, when many of us are freezing our b***s off http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...on_biggrin.gif |
I agree with 7thSon. Looking at a future cruise makes me jealous and causes me to book a cruise just so I can feel better. Looking a completed cruises makes me wonder what I missed if I was on the same cruise. I wouldn't think of listing all my past cruises because the "fluff" would take too long to read and might become boring--almost like reading a telephone book. Maybe I'll just not delete my expired tickers - that would be interesting because the expired days will count up instead of down.

Dwayne
You've got more fluff in your signature than a hotel pillow! And Sonny, I want to be you if I grow up! |
