Can anyone tell me if you can buy wine in the shop on board The Dawn and take it back to your cabin.

No wine is sold on board EXCEPT in restaurants and bars. Bring your own aboard, and pay NCL $15.00 to open the bottle and store it for you until it's gone. Only hard liquor sold on board in Duty Free shops.

So you can buy hard liquor on board and take the bottle to your cabin. Do you know how many bottles of wine you can take on board? I would like to have a few in my cabin.

No, you can't buy hard liquor and take it to your cabin either. That is only for duty free and you pick it up the last evening of your cruise. You're best off to bring your own wine and pay the corkage. I don't know if they have a limit -- but a "few" sounds reasonable to me.
