Any Advice on Pride of America

We are booked to stay at the Marriott the first day then get aboard the Pride of America Jan 26 cruise the islands and spend another night after the cruise at the Marriott again. Any advice or things to look for would be nice. Another question are there shuttles from the airport or do you have to get a cab?

Read some of the reviews from the ship just to set proper expectations before you arrive. The ship is beautiful, the ports... well it's Hawaii, they're all great. The service and cleanliness will leave a bit of a bad taste in your mouth. Going in knowing what to expect is important with NCLA.

On the ground transportation issue, they offer transfers but I'd grab a cab. It's only 5 miles but will take you approx. 20 minutes, traffic is heavy most of the day.

Thanks TrvlPro---We've been on 9 cruises. I have read the reviews and it really doesn't sound all that great, but I understand that this is the best way to see all the islands at a good rate. We are going to use the ship as a place to sleep. Most of our time we hope will be on the islands.

Tex, you've planned well for this one and using the ship as a hotel room and little else you'lll have a great vacation. It really is the best way to see the islands without spending an arm and a leg.
