Me and my sister are going to be on the Sun in April and we would like a bottle of wine to be delivered to our room. We know we can have food and wine delivered but we just want wine. I can't figure out how to just order a bottle, but I have heard about people who have order alcohol to be in their stateroom. Please help.
Hello mcordy. I'm not sure there is a way to just order wine. Usually you can order it with some fruit, strawberries or some other light fare in addition to the red or white wine. Either way, you are looking at about $20.00. Maybe put a bug in your travel agents ear that you would like a bottle of wine at your cabin for the first night.....if your agent is good, he or she will have one waiting for you at no charge! Good luck and happy cruising. I will be on the Sun on the April 1 cruise.
If it a special occasion and you want wine delivered and to waiting when arriving on the ship, just contact the travel agent and NCL will have it waiting.
If this is NOT the case, I highly suggest to get on board, set up your stateroom, and then both you and your wife/partner, simply go to one of the bars. Select your own wine from their lists which are extensive. You will know exactly what you're going to get, and what year it was produced and what part of the world the wine was made.
NCL has a house list or complimentray wine list. They also have an upscale premium list up to $100's of dollars for the real wine specialist. Since we are Platinum members on NCL and just off the Pearl Feb 11th, we had wine waiting in our room, which we did not like. So we took the wine to dinner and had it exchanged for a wine selection from their list and every time there was no problem. We exchanged Chardonnay for a White Zinfindel. If you choose a better, higher priced wine, they will charge you the small difference. The wine delivered to our room when we arrived had a value of $18.00 at ship prices for the bottle. Truthfully in the USA, the wine would have sold for about $4.00-$5.00.
Hopefully this information helps. I would not buy the wine sight unseen, If you pre order red, you will most likely a cheap red waiting for you. Same for the white.
You can have a bar setup delivered and waiting for you upon your arrival. There is a specific list of wines to choose from. I'd suggest calling your TA or, if you booked with NCL, your PVP, and they can tell you how to order.
The Sun has a mini-bar in each cabin. I'm not sure of the contents since we did not use it but if memory serves me correctly there was small bottles of wine in it. I'm sure your cabin steward can provide any number of bottles you want.
I just don't want to be judgmental and irk someone else. (I had to get stitches in my lip where I bit it....). Sometimes restraint is one of my shining areas, as well.....oh for the love of Pete, get me some kool aid!
Well goin cruisin, you have had a night to sleep on it. I agree with Chef, go ahead and let er rip.....stitches will heel, but ulcers won't if you keep emotions inside........deep breath............relax...........
