This is our first cruise with NCL. Does anyone know of any promotions to get a cabin upgrade. We are now in JJ. Doing the 15 southern carribean cruise on April 22.

Is that the Norwegian Majesty? Looks like there is an upgrade promotion in place, whereas you may have paid the Category J price and were put into a Category JJ. There's a similar promotion that you can pay the JJ price and be put in a Cat. I cabin.

Looks like there is no promotion where you pay for an inside room and get upgraded to an ocean view.

If it's Norwegian Majesty, an upgrade from JJ to I puts you one deck higher. Both categories, along with II, are superior insides and are roughly 145 square feet. Categories J and below are 108 square feet.

Note that the outside categories E through H are back to 108 square feet, so upgrading from the highest inside cabin to the standard outside cabins actually results in less space.
Happy cruising!
