Looking at them and wondering if it is worth it...seems like it is a lot of $$ for excussions that (for example) just take you to ....a beach... and thats it...does that mean that the beach is THAT FAR AWAY!?!?!?!

What ship/sailing are you on? What itinerary? Generally, you are going to pay a little bit more for the ship's shore excursions than if you did it on your own. However, there are considerations.

What ports are you looking at?
