Hi everyone,

we are planning a cruise in september 2006 on the NCL Dawn to Canada/New England. Unfortunately due to business it is not possible for me to go later than the 09/16 departure from NYC. Although i know that this is not peak season yet, are there already beautiful fall colours to see, or is this far too early? And how about the fall colours in the White and Green Mountains directly before that date, as we'd like to spend a couple of days there prior to the cruise?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards, CP

In Canada, the fall season generally comes between September 1st and October 30th.

Seeing as tomorrow is September 1st and there is no sign of fall colour, I think it's safe to say it will be a little later this year.

If you wanted to be absolutely sure of enjoying the fall colour, I would suggest cruising late-September to mid-October.

I agree with Kate. I live in New England and usually we don't see the leave change until early to mid October and that is all dependent on the weather.

I would suggest waiting until October.

Hi CP,

We are now back from our vacation, but I´ve got a flew, so wait until next weekend or next week to call me.

@ Kate and Helen: Thank you, i'll probably try to take the 09/23 departure. Hopefully that'll work out.

@ Marita: Good to hear that you're back . I'll call you next week, because I'll be away for the weekend.

Best regards, CP

We are booked on NCl Jewl Canada New england Sept 18-29th. This will be our fourth time with this itinery. The weather is the greatest variable as to whether or not you will see colours on your trip. We have always done the trip at this time of the year and have not seen a lot of colours. But it is hard to say what you will see. We absolutely love this itinery and hope you enjoy it whether or not you see colours.I hope you itinery takes you to Quebec city and up the Saguenay Fjord. Both locations are absolutely spectacular.
Enjoy your cruise.

@ haze54: Thank you for the info. Unfortunately Quebec and Saguenay are not in the itinerary of the NCL Dawn in 2006. That's why we are also considering the Sea Princess leaving from Quebec.

Please tell us afterwards how it was this year

Hi folks,

how does it look in Canada/ New England right now with the fall colors?

I am still very interested in cruising there exactly now next year.

Any comment strongly appreciated,

Hi CP,

what about some webcams?

http://www.geddys.com/geddycams/harborcam/

http://www.almanac.com/webcam/index.php

http://www.stormpost.com/cams.pl

http://www.123cam.com/site.php?var=5674&site=http://www...eaquebec.com/wx.htm#
http://www.gov.ns.ca/tran/cameras/ca...?id=Trunk%2012

But I must say, on all webcams weather conditions doesn´t look good and the leaves are still green and not coloured.

As I told you, this time is too early for an Indian Summer cruise.

Best regards
Marita
