we, family German/American with 2 kids (11+13) will be on NCL Jewel from January 4th-9th.
Anybody else out there who's joining us?
Any recommendations for a hotel the night before
departure?

Welcome to Cruise Chat. A popular hotel to stay at in Miami is the Holiday Inn Port of Miami. It is close to the pier. It is located directly across from Bayside Market which has plenty of shopping, and restaurants and bars for entertainment.

We were on the NCL Sky in September and had a marvelous time, it was just too short. Check out our Hotels and Transfer section, a little further down on the main page. You can use your "Find" feature (upper left hand corner) and type in Miami. It will pull up all the posts made about Miami. You might find a few good suggestions.
