Just wanted to post a warning to future cruisers on the Pearl. Everything about the cruise was great, if only we could of gotten some sleep. We were in cabins 11614, 11616, and ll618, mini-suites.
The problem we experienced was terrible. 24 hrs a day loud clanging, pounding, rolling, etc. We were directly under the galley. After the first night of no sleep, contacted the front desk several times. I was sent on a run around. All I could get out of them was that they were sorry and they would try and be quieter. The second night of no sleep, we went to see exactly were the noise was coming from. We talked to the manager of the Italian rest. and she was nice and apologized. She informed us that this happens all of the time on cruises. I asked her if any construction was being preformed, just as she assured us that there was not. We had to move out of the way of a construction cart with tile and tile laying supplies. I questioned her and she said that they were replacing grout. Every night I called the front desk complaining about the loud noises and I asked to be moved several times. I was told that there weren't any balacony cabins available. On the 6th night of no sleep they finally said we could use a inside cabin for sleeping purposes. They did not come up with a extra cabin for my parents until the 7th or 8th night. They never had an extra cabin available on our floor for my brother, so he just stayed in his cabin without sleeping.
We are very disappointed in the way NCL handled the whole situation. First of all they should not sell these cabins. An apology just does not make up for lack of sleep. I should not of had to keep begging for another room. This should of been offered to us immediately. They wanted to offer us a small amount of onboard credit. Which we refused. They offered us future cruise credit. Which in our opinion is not enough to compensate for the lack of sleep. You know man can go without food, but not without sleep. We were continuously told we would be contacted in the morning, to see how our night went. We wasted alot of our Holiday with this problem. I think NCL simply does not care. After we use our cruise credit we will be using other cruiselines. So if you are going on the Pearl DO NOT book these cabins.
We had a great time in all of the ports and the weather could not of been more beautiful.
