Speakin' of models, there's a restauraunt in Myrtle Beach, SC called Captain Benjamin's that has some amazing models in their foyer. One is at least 12-feet long (Queen Mary?) and they have a 6-footer of the FRANCE in that classic Black Livery. I think a local guy makes them. They are very cool.

I imagine some of those exquisite Bassett-Lowke models became superfluous when companies like Cunard closed their lower Broadway NYC offices, and were picked up by enterprising folks for a song. Some of the bigger travel agencies had them too. I'm sure many of us wish we could put our hands on them today.

I hate to see her described over and over as a "toxic ship", but at least the world is sitting up and taking notice... and the chances of India being forced into refusing here entry are probably getting better all the time. But if so, what then?
What is going on with Tug-Barge because yesterday they announced the ship was on its way to Alang for demolition. Are they part of this whole smokescreen and is someone telling them what to say or what??

Good catch, atlantic109. I saw that too. It said something like "We're taking it to Alang to scrap, but you can still BUY IT while it's on the way ...."
I suggest it's a multi-level smokescreen: Part 1 is just like a used car dealer would use. "I've got another guy that's interested, so do you want it for MY price or not?"
Part 2 is Yada yada yada DUBAI. "Yeah, THAT's the ticket ..... we're towing it to DUBAI" to throw Greenpeace and the Indian government off the trail. (although it must have been a REAL stroke of luck that DubaiLand just happened to be needing a 1,035 foot steamship hull, eh?? )
