Norwegian Sun - Nov 6 - Western Carribean

This is our first time on Norwegian, have been on 2 Princess Cruises so far. Can anyone give us guidance on shore excursions (we'd prefer to do our own thing, rather than book through the ship), or point me in the right direction? Anybody have any "can't miss" suggestions? Also - are there hair dryers in the rooms?

Yes, all NCL ships have hair dryers.

What's the Sun's iternary this winter?

Sorry, I guess that information would have helped! Cozumel, Belize City, Roatan, and Playa del Carmen.

Thanks for the info on the hairdryers; I couldn't imagine that they didn't, but the brochure wasn't really clear on that.

Since you prefer touring on your own, I suggest either renting a car or hiring a taxi. Then either head into town for shopping, or head to the beaches for sunning or snorkeling. If you're planning on going to any Mayan ruins, I suggest you take a NCL shore excursions instead.
On any trip to the Carribbean, pack plenty of bug-insect spray. Mosquitoes and sand fleas and other bugs that bite are everywhere.
