Has anyone returned recently from the Star?
I'm not sure if the reservations for the specialty restaurants can be made for the whole wk.(in advance) or do you have to make 1 at a time for each day? Was it hard to get a seating time?
Also, our second & third days are at sea & someone wrote that there are special menues for the regular restaurants & not to book specialty ones. Also, what aboout the 1/2 off specials when are they announced? How soon in advance do we know all this? Can you tell we're chomping at the bit to leave in 8 DAYS!!! Bon Voyage, Ellen

They normally open up reservations the day before for the specialy restaurants. They always have a half off offer the first night of the cruise, so book Le Bistro just to get things going. The best way to do it is to board with your restaurant choices already made, that way you can call the instant they start taking reservations and pretty much get whatever time you want.

The first day at sea will be an optional formal night, but I would still suggest dining in an alternative restaurant, as they are so good. They are worth the extra cost.

Thanks for the advise. Is the "1st"night of the cruise considered Nov.1,Tues(the day we board for that night0? Also,how does one book a restaurant the day b'4 before seeing the daily news for the day seeing what is availabe & at what times. Trying to be organized it all seems so calculated & we do want to be relaxed!
