We are traveling on the Dawn on 8/23 to Bermuda. Can't wait. Are there designated formal nights? I really couldn't get an answer from our travel agent. Wasn't sure because of the freestyle dining. Will my 8 yr old have to wear a suit or is a shirt and tie ok?
Welcome to cruise-chat. NCL has what it calls "dress up or not nights." So, dressing formally is not necessary... your choice. Your son will be appropriately dressed in a shirt and slacks (tie optional), as will any men traveling in your party.
Dress up or dress down...whatever makes you happy....I bring a sports coat and dress pants for the 2 "dress up or not" nights....Just go and have a smashing good time....
On NCL Dressing up is optional on their "Elegant" nights. Many passengers choose to do so - but an equal number stick with the "resort" casual. Either choice is welcome in the Main Dining Rooms at all times. With the airlines tagging on extra baggage fees increasing numbers of passengers are choosing to leave the gowns and tuxes behind and flying lighter!
