My agent just asked me about the split up bathrooms in the Epic cabins. I haven't paid a lot of attention to it but here is the deal: the shower is on one side of the cabin with just a frosted glass door; the toilet is on the other side and has a door; the sink is located in the cabin. Looking at the images available it does appear there is a curtain which can be drawn across the cabin to isolate the shower/toilet area.

So does anyone have problems with this? Does the image of essentially standing in the bathroom while mom or dad take a shower behind the sliding glass occur to you? What about using the toilet and then having to open the door (grab the door handle) and walk over to the sink to wash your hands?

We'll have to wait and get first-hand reports but I don't like the casual nature this depicts. Seems like a lot of chances for families to have embarrassing moments.

Here is an image. You can see the commode on the left, then the main cabin entrance, and then the shower stall. The sink is farther in on the right.

Penny I think you are booked for Oct on the Epic, I have been researching NCL lately looking for a different cruise experience. Anyone else please respond these cabins are REALLY different looking, the split up bathroom I assume trying to deal with the tiny bathroom issues...but really strange.

We've booked a standard balcony. I can't wait to see the cabin, the pictures (artist's concepts) look amazing.

Yeah, suddenly I have the urge to go NCL are you rubbing off on me ? The artist renderings look amazing, but I am not sure about the bathroom layout. Do you think the parts of the ship available to only a few are a return of classes of cruising ?

Sounds better than a one-holer out in the woods.

I liked the bathrooms the way they are on the Pearl and Jewel....even if you have to sit side-saddle on the pot.....Happy sailing...

I will be on the EPIC the same time as Penny, I have a D2 Cat but I am not to sure what that means http://bestsmileys.com/blushing/5.gif I think we may have a tub and shower but not too sure and neither are the folks I have talked to at NCL ! I was trying to get as high up on the decks as I could! It will be fine I am sure, but if anyone knows about a D2 let me know http://cruise-chat.com/groupee_commo...icon_smile.gif The bathrooms on the Solstice are fabulous, so I think these will be too!

The toilets on the Jewel is in it's on little room...right up against the wall....you almost have to sit side-saddle and on the Pearl they angled it out a bit, but if you are tall, you have to do the same....but they are the best bathrooms of any of the ships I've been on....going back on the Pearl in May.....don't know yet, which ships in Jan and Feb.....Happy Sailing...
