St. George or King's Wharf

My husband and I are planning a cruise that goes to Bermuda this year, not sure which one to choose, St. George or King's Wharf? anyone have ideas? thanks

There are a few things to consider. First, if the ship is more important to you than the destination, I'd go with Norwegian Dawn. (I must admit that Norwegian Majesty is a very favorite ship of mine, yet Norwegian Dawn is more spacious and has more amenities.)

If ease of getting on and off the ship is important, I'd go with Norwegian Majesty. She remains docked at St. George for her entire stay, whereas N. Dawn spends part of the time at anchor. (This is "Grassy Bay.")

Bermuda itself is very easy to get around on your own. Both St. George and King's Wharf are convenient to the bus and ferry system. St. George is closer to the aquarium and Crystal Caves, while King's Wharf is closer to the beaches. Then again, nothing is truly that far away.

Let me know what you'd like to do while in Bermuda, and I can offer more advice. We've been four times, most recently in 2005 and 2006.

What would you rather have, an extra day in Bermuda, or an extra day at sea?

The Majesty will stay in Bermuda one day more, the Dawn will be at sea one day more, besides that one day at anchor. Which is good because it is a much nicer ship.

If price of fares is a major concern, pick the cheapest.

I guess it doesn't come as a surprise when I say: Pick the beautiful Majesty !!

She's a lovely little ship, although she may have lost some of her charm, when most of her handsome young norwegian officers are gone

She's docked in the heart of St George's for three and a half days and you can easily reach all of Bermuda from there either with bus, rented scooter or ferry.

Enjoy your time in Bermuda, no matter what ship you'll pick you'll have a great time. It's indeed a beautiful and peaceful part of the world
