Hello, fellow travelers on Jade starting Med cruise on December 21. We have made an arrangements for a private tour in Turkey with Denizhan, who is highly recommended here in this thread and on other forums. We are looking for more people to join us on the tour. If we find 3 more (it's a van), it'll be around $25 per person, if 6 more people (minibus) - less than $20 per person. I exchanged several e-mails with Denizhan, and am very impressed by his attitude and communication.
Hi there, are you still looking for people to join you on that tour? We are definitely interested.

Hi! We are going on this same cruise in Jan and booking some of our own shore excursions too. Has anyone wired money via Western Union for deposits, and is this standard practice? Thanks for any info you can provide!
Hi Allywatrous, welcome to Cruise-Chat. I would be wary wiring money. If you put it on your credit card, you can always dispute the charges. If you wire money, it's gone if it's a scam. I highly recommend NOT doing tours on your own without plenty of research or previous knowledge of the area. It is too easy to be scammed via the internet, so be very careful. Hope you have a wonderful cruise, and once again, welcome aboard!
Dear Penny3333,
I am hesitant to send money via Western Union--although you use your credit card to send it. The money is for a deposit on a Cairo tour that was highly recommended by a cruiser in Oct. The tour operator says it's the only way to send money, because they don't have Paypal. I was hoping others had experience with this sort of thing.
Maybe someone on the board has used them, but this doesn't sound too legitimate to me. Most reputible firms take credit cards. If you personally know someone who has done the tour, then it might be ok, but I'd be leery.
Ally,
Did you book this tour in Egypt. I also was planning on booking but am weary of the deposit. But she is reccomended on other sites as well. Let me know how it went. I am planning on going 2/15. Thanks
Eva
I also have been in contact with the suneast tour company that was highly recommended by someone on this site, but was weary because they were asking for money transfer and do not accept credit card. Have you been able to find out any other advice or recommendations from them?
I am going on the October Jade Athens to istanbul and was looking to book several tours on my own instead of through the cruise ship because they offer a little more flexibility.
