It appears that smoking is acceptable on NCL ships. My husband smokes, much to my dislike, and found it easy to smoke on the ship. There are many designated smoking areas. Ash trays are all over the place and even in the rooms. We had a balcony and my husband only smoked outside. As a non-smoker, if you have an inside room, I would suggest you not smoke in your room simply becasue I wouldn't want to be the next person in your room. I personally wish they made it more difficult or make the ships non-smoking. My husband would certainly disagree.
