Latest Itinerary Changes Due to Wilma

Wow, lot of angry feelings out there from recent Dream cruisers. Not taking the ship out of service to fix it appears to be at minimum a big PR mistake on the part of NCL. If anyone taking the Nov 5 sailing reads this, can you please tell us where you stopped? With Cozumel and Cancun cancelled due to Wilma and Belize and Roatan looking unlikely due to engine problems, I'm wondering exactly where we are going to go when our family gets on the boat on Nov 19.

M&l, me and my friends are due to sail on the 12th of Nove. and return on the day you are suppose to sail. I am going to make the best of what little we are going to get. they informed me that we were only getting a $28 per person credit because that is what the port fees were for both ports that were canceled. I jumped into another cruise lines chat (Carnival) and noticed that on lady was getting $100 per person due to the huricane and she is not even sailing until Feb. 2006! this will be the last time i cruise with NCL! I think that is why so many people are so ****ed off. Hope u enjoy ur cruise, if i see u when i get off the ship,i will tell u how it went. Good Luck!

The Dream pulled into Roatan today. It will be anchored off Belize City tomorrow. So, it is going where it was advertised by NCL to be going after Hurricane Wilma destroyed Cosumel and Cancun. Earlier trips went to Progreso and Vera Cruz because of Hurricane Beta.

It's not like NCL sent the Dream nowhere.

In fact, the Sun is doing the exactly same itinerary as the Dream until Cosumel reopens.
It appears the Sun with all engines in good order isn't going to more ports than the Dream.
Therefore, the fact that the Dream has one engine undergoing repairs hasn't affected your cruise.

What has affected your cruise has been many hurricanes destroying your itinerary's ports.

Ron, you just made my day. How do you know they just pulled into Roatan? I'm still convinced you work for NCL, but that's fine with me if you deliver good news once in a while too. Feel free to provide all the inside scoop you can.

How do I know? I checked the Dream's bow web cam earlier. You can also verify what I said is true at this url:

Earlier, while there was daylight, you could tell. The island appeared rual in nature, without much development. The ship is docked at the pier and the bow is pointed southeast. It is Roatan, trust me.
If it were Progreso or Vera Cruz, the surroundings would appear urban. The same would be true at Belize City, except the ship would be anchored miles off shore.

Sportcat, We received a letter in the mail from NCL. I called NCL on 11/8 to confirm this change and Marsha informed me that they may still go there. On 11/12 they said that the Cozumel port may reopen and it will possibly be added back to the cruise. I guess we will have to wait until we board to see where we will be going.
