OK, I've seen that passengers are not allowed to carry on their own wine & liquor. How about soda? I'm cruising on the Dawn later this year, and I've read that each cabin has its own mini-fridge. And if you can't carry on your own beverages, why do they provide fridges in the cabins?

they provide fridges in the cabins that are STOCKED with beer, wine, and pop so that they can collect more money from us i suppose!! I do know that Carnival did not allow passengers to bring aboard soda, i saw like 5 cases of it confesgated upon check in. I truly do not know the reason behind this, from what i was told they would not even allow bottled water, so we didn't even try!

I'm just off the 3/22 SUN sailing and we brougt on: 12 pack of Dasani, 12 pack of Diet Mt. Dew, 2 12 packs of Red Mt. Dew for the orphanage in Roatan. NO PROBLEMS. Also, there was no "mini bar" beverages in my fridge. It was empty until I filled it up!

Thanks - On the web I found several reviews that, at least on the NCL Dawn, the cabin fridges are empty, and I figured if you couldn't use them for your own refreshments, what would they be used for? Leftover food? (Who would ask for a doggy bag on a cruise?)
