I was thinking about booking a cruise with NCL (norwegian-cruise-lines.net). Ive heard good things, but also a lot of horror stories about cruises mishaps and overchargin. What experiences have people have with NCL? Would you recommend NCL or should I try another line?

sspecialme,

welcome to Cruise-Chat.com.

Is it Norwegian Cruise Line (http://www.ncl.com/) or Norwegian Cruise Lines (http://www.norwegian-cruise-lines.net/) - note the additional s - that you're planning to book a cruise with? The latter one is not a cruise line but a travel agency which sells different kinds of cruises, including Norwegian Cruise Line.

Is this going to be your first cruise?

Biz-Nap!,

for the record, you are talking about a third option here, NCL America.

Just an extra note about NCL.
I enjoyed my cruise so much last year on The Jewel. Brilliant itinery so many places to visit just so good that we are going again to do what we missed out on. Ship and accomodation very good; all in all an excellent cruise. Ive booked it already for next year as itinery the same.

Forget my last post. I was trying to highlight the "just dont do it" with a counterpiont view. I loved NCL," Pride of aloha " going to Hawaii. In fact I just booked the same ship next May. It all depends on your attitude and what your looking for in a ship. While not the top notch luxury liner, it serves it 's purpose well if you are going mainly to see the Hawaiian Islands. The ships food was very good, service prompt on the specialy restuarants and pretty good on regular dining. Rooms clean and attentive staff on board. I had no problems.

Hi

My wife and I will be on our very first cruise on ncl Pride of Aloha Thanksgiving week. I have read both good and bad regarding the ship and the crew, food, etc. We are not real "picky" people. Please tell me that we will have a good time on this trip to Hawaii.

We did the Jewel out of Barcelona all through out Italy and had a fantastic time. The food was great the service was top shelf. My wife has food allergies and I can not tell you how well they took care of us. Even for the shore excursions they made sure that they packed her a box lunch so she would not be exposed to foods she could not eat. We are booked on the Jewel for Dec 17 to Eastern Caribbean. We thought that we were spoiled by Disney Cruise Lines but we have come to enjoy the freestyle cruising. Not having to be at dinner at a specific night. You will have fun. Enjoy
