We are 30 year old newlyweds who don't drink much. Are there many onboard activities for our age group? We have many days at sea and are trying to figure out what to bring as far as books etc.

How are the libraries and game rooms on the ships? What about the activities? We will be on the Sun so if you have been on this ship before please let us know.

There are tons of activities daily. You will receive your newletter in your room the evening before. You can check out what you want to do. There's also the gym and the spa as well as the pools. You can do as much or as little as you wish. I wouldn't be packing a bunch of books, you won't read very much. Haven't sailed on the NCL Sun, but am sure plenty on the board have. Congratulations on your wedding and your cruise!

Newlywed08 - Call NCL and get the inexpensive Romance package. You'll embark with a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate coated strawberries in your stateroom,. They'll include a dinner with bottle of wine at the French Restaurant on board with a special cake, You'll have a champagne and cake party with other young couples and you'll get a beautiful photograph at the party (already paid for). One night they will deliver treats to your stateroom. Well worth the money.
Stop at the Purser's Desk to see if you can order a cruise chart and map of the cruise signed by the Captain. It makes a wonderful remebrance of the cruise and should be saved and/or framed when you bring it home. It is very inexpensive ($7-8).

Hi Newlywed08,

We love the Sun so much we've been on it 3 times. Twice to Alaska and once to the Caribbean. Lucky you to be going to South America on her. As far as activities go, you have been well advised to check out the Freestyle Daily that will be given to you each day for what is going on, but from what we have observed, there are frequent activities by the pool (contests, bands, etc.) There are sports such as basketball going on quite a bit. In some of the lounges they offer lots of things -- from Wii games to napkin folding. The shows are quite good and I think there are also art auctions and Bingo, but they can be costly.
Have a wonderful time
Judy
