Pride of America: Cabin, Deck And shipside selection

Planning the POA Hawaii cruise, next July, IN SPITE OF EVERYTHING, after we a read a huge sum of negative reviews, we will lower down the level of expectations regarding the ship, and enjoy our itinerary, so, I wonder if some body could advice a certain cabin, deck and which shipside could we book, we will have the family suite AE, category;
also, any other tips, are highly appreciated.
