NCL's Dawn - A technical question

Hi All:

Could some cruise ship guru explain something to me? First, take a look at this link...

That's the Dawn's webcam.

What in heaven's name did they do to the forward (crew) hot tubs? I don't remember them ever looking like that. I looked at Star's webcam (since she's Dawn's sister) and her forward tubs look like I remember the Dawn's when I was aboard.

I like to check on her from time to time and so looked to see if she'd departed NYC yet for her 12/22 10 day trip and saw this eyesore complete with what looks like grafitti!

What gives?

Just curious is all; I hate to see this beautiful lady defaced!

It looks more like a pool for the crew.

I don´t think, that this "thing" is a jacuzzi.

That's just it; it used to be two seperate tubs.

If you look at NCL Star's webcam you'll see the way Dawn used to look. You can see the two ladders that used to lead to the two individual tubs. What really bothers me is the weird writing.

Like I said, looks like grafitti!

the original hot tubs were destroyed when "Norwegian Dawn" was hit by a freak wave earlier this year. My guess is that this is one large jacuzzi with two jacuzzi basins (hope you know what I mean).

Somehow I knew you'd come through! You sure do know your ships!

Of course I know all about the freak wave, I just didn't realize this area had been affected.

Thanks for the info, I just wonder why it looks so bad. I hope they're working on that!
