I am taking my parents on the Spirit over Christmas. I have never cruised before and I have a couple of questions. I was looking at the shore excursions and wanted to book them in advance but my dad isnt' sure about committing to several excursions. He is 81 and doesn't want to over do anything. He sugested that I book excursions for myself and my mom and then he could join us if he felt up to it.
Is that possible? Do the shore excursions sell out? If I just book them for all of us there an option to cancel an excursion for him if he doesn't go on the excursion?
I appreciate any help or sugestions you might have.
Some excursions do sell out. I would buy them all together and then cancel if you have to. Read the policy on cancellation before you book anything though. It usually is cancel by 24hrs prior. Some excursions may have more than one time offered. You don't what to take the risk of buying two 8:00 tours now, and later only the 1:00 tour available.
Welcome to Cruise Chat.
Well, I'm no cruise expert, having been on only one cruise this summer, but I found (and have heard) that it is easy to book shore excurions when you are at a port or one day ahead.
The ones you book yourself, when you get off the ship, are often cheaper than the ones booked through the cruise lines.
I hope you and your parents have a wonderful trip
