New Years Eve festivities

I asked this question under a thread about the Wind, but since there has been no response - I thought I would try just a general NCL question. I will be cruising over New Year's and this is my first New Years Eve cruise. Does anyone know if NCL plans special New Years Eve festivities onboard, or should we plan to organize our own party?

An midnight countdown, alas New Year's Eve style party, is performed on every NCL ship every week. I can't envision a New Year's Eve cruise not having it on New Year's Eve.
