lotodogs it depends on how busy and how active you want to be. The Hawaiian Islands are so beautiful that just renting a car and driving around the island stopping where and whenever you want to site see or have lunch and shop is a very pleasant way to spend a day. This is what we will do on our Hawaiian cruise April 1. I am sure others will give you other options....Aloha and Mahalo!
Check your excursions over ahead of time on the ncl site. They are all available there and you may be able to get an idea of what you would like to do ahead of time. When we cruised ncl last time we book excursions through ncl everything went smooth. This time because we have been to Hawaii we are going to take it one day at a time. Do watch though as some excursions are very expensive through the cruiseline. Driving around is really a good idea.
