Hello everybody,

"Marco Polo" has been acquired by Global Maritime (Greece) and will be bareboat-chartered to Transocean Tours of Germany from next year. Transocean intends to keep both her name and the blue hull which I think is an excellent move.

And to make things better, Transocean's UK GSA will offer a series of ex-UK cruises for English-speaking passengers next year, in addition to the cruises catering mainly to German-speaking passengers.

I am happy to say that I see the old lady in very good hands even though it still saddens me that the wonderful Orient Lines product will soon be history.

I guess Orientlines will also be "no more" unless they are buying another ship???

I am glad she will be still in service for a few more years.

Lyn,

I guess there is one possibility which would allow Orient Lines to continue to exist: That is if Star Cruises should decide to use their "SuperStar Gemini" as a replacement for the "Marco Polo". But then I doubt that is going to happen.
