Internet Access on Hawaii Cruise

Taking a Hawaii cruise soon while we are in the middle of buying/selling a house. While I don't want to spend the bulk of my vacation stuck in an internet cafe, I do need to check emails regularly and I refuse to pay the exorbitant rates on the ship for what I hear is really slow service. I was wondering if anyone can recommend any internet cafes within walking distance of ports, especially Hilo/Kona. Thanks in advance for any advice

You should have no trouble finding Internet cafes in Hawaii. In Hilo there is a place called Beach Dog Rentals. It is right downtown at the corner of Waianeueue and Kinoole. In Kona, about 1 block from the tender pier on Allii Drive there is a place. Can't remember the name, but if memory serves me correctly there were a few places all very close to the pier.

Depending on your carrier another opition would is use your cell phone & laptop. I use to travel alot, before hotels offered Wireless. I called Verizon they sold me a package software and supplies for about $100.00 Then all the time you use internet goes toward your minutes. Free nights and weekends internet free. So it may or may not be worth it to you, but might be worth checking out
