hi. i was wondering if there is anything that can be done after you book and pay for your cruise(i went through an online travel agency in feb.) and then the rates for my same type room dropped 400 dollars in the last few months. i have never been on a cruise before and didnt realize that the prices drop so drastically. it is now three weeks to the cruise and we could have saved big bucks had we waited. we chose a guaranteed balcony room (we got our papers and have room 9700 on the spirit) . they are still offering staterooms in this category . can there be anything done (maybe a refund or credit of some sort)or do i just learn a valuable lesson and book at the last minute next time???

I can't say on other Cruise line's, but I know that Carnival and Celebrity will give back the difference if the fare goes down after you book.If Norwegian does not make it right with you I would not cruise with them again. Let us know how you make out!First call the T/A you delt with then if you get no satisfaction call the cruise line.Again please let us know how you make out.Tom

In the UK you would not be able to do anything about it.

It is like buying a dress at full price and 2 weeks later they put it on sale. It is the chance you take of purchasing something.

I know there is a great deal of difference compared to the USA to UK. You guys get your deposits back up before you pay your final balance if you decided to cancel and we don't.

Once you pay the deposit that's it.

The prices on our October HAL cruise went down. I called HAL, and they adjusted the price. They did ask first if I had booked through a TA (I hadn't), so if you used a travel agent, I would suggest having her/him contact the cruise line about an adjustment.

hi. i contacted my TA and she said it couldnt hurt to ask but usually the rule is , if you have paid your cruise in full, there is nothing you can do. she did call ncl for me and apparently it wasnt that easy, but they did give a shipboard credit. not for the whole difference in price by any means but it helped. i wish i could post the travel agency name (i understand that you are not allowed), but my TA has been absolutely wonderful!!!!

Glad to hear your TA was able to help, cromsters, and that you got at least some of the difference. It depends on the cruise line, and on what their policy is at the time. One cruise line was able to adjust the price, but others (Carnival included, in my past experience) require that you cancel and rebook to get the lower price, and you chance losing the cabin you picked.
